A photograph never grows old. You and I change, people change all through the months and years, but a photograph always remains the same. How nice to look at a photograph of mother or father taken many years ago. You see them as you remember them. But as people live on, they change completely. That is why I think a photograph can be kind.

I remember what it was like being thirteen and having one little brother. What if you had three! They sure are cute, aren’t they? All four of them seem like such sweet kids. That is one lucky dad!
We couldn’t have picked a more humid day for this shoot. It definitely wasn’t a good hair day for me so I’m glad this family looked so great. The last couple of days when it has only been 91 and lower humidity has been such a treat (how sad). I’m looking forward to cooler weather.
I’ll be gone over the weekend at a great photography workshop in Ohio. I’ll be back to business next Tuesday, 8/31.

Don’t you just love happy newborns? This one really is a gem. He smiled lots for me and was so pleasant.
Here is his beautiful Movie Star mom. She is such a sweet lady.

I love newborn squished up faces. Look at those sweet lips of his. This was his own natural pose (and not mine).
I was so glad to finally meet Baby Davis. He will be referred to in that way for quite some time. That happens when you have a two year old big sister. And here she is below. I never know how two year olds will react to new brothers and sisters. It can be common for them to have nothing to do with them. This sweet girl was a perfect angel and sat still for this family shot with her new brother. I was so impressed with her especially later when she cooperated and held her brother for me. I was so happy for that because I know the images I have from my own child at the age of two holding his newborn brother are so precious to me.

This is such a great family – I was so honored to get to spend some time with them so soon after coming home from the hospital and trying to adjust to a new life with a new baby. I am wishing lots of good sleep for them all over the next few weeks!
Have a great week, everyone!
My fourth child and he just “had” to be in the picture. We call him Woody. I can’t wait to curl him up into cute newborn poses.
I was thinking today that even though I stay so busy I need to be better about catching those every day moments of our family in the house. This was today after school when homework was supposed to be happening. I can’t believe I got three all four in the picture. Now I won’t forget the messed up hair, Silly Bandz, the year of Toy Story 3 and of course the half-in permanent teeth. Too bad you can’t see the 6 staples in Evan’s head to really mark the occasion (the side of the pool got him last weekend). I also got many other shots of them rolling all over the floor. That will help me to remember how crazy and loud this afternoon ended up getting. Whew.
I was up late tonight editing other sessions but thought I would share one of my own for a change. Lots of fun things are going on and I wish I was a little more ahead of my game. I’ve got one more child to get into (pre)school next week and then the fun will begin! Or at least I’ll be driving around town even more – if that is possible!

It is hard to be cool in this Atlanta weather. Early morning sessions are the way to go even though it is still pretty muggy then. It was particularly humid on this day but luckily these guys were easy to work with and didn’t make me chase them (like my 18 month old subjects!).
I love these kids. Aren’t they the cutest? Their personalities are equally adorable.

This is what summer is all about. I love seeing kids get to be kids which means messy, right? I’m glad she has sweet easy going parents that were fine with letting her get a little sticky. She actually did pretty good not getting too messed up in her adorable monogrammed dress. Isn’t she beautiful?

Who needs a lollipop when you have fingers?
This darling two year old will be a big sister very soon. I’m glad she was able to get this session all to herself. I just love two year olds. They are so cute and say the funniest things. I am so lucky to still have a two year old at home with me. It is “three” that I worry about!
Happy Summer!

Meet Little Eva that was born not so very long ago. She is the sweetest little thing ever…didn’t give us one problem! It looks like she is going to get her Mom’s good looks and hopefully her Dad’s head of hair! I think you will be able to tell from this next picture that she has already got him wrapped around her little finger.

I am so behind from being on vacation (totally worth it) and hope to have more stuff coming soon. Do you ever feel so behind you think you will never catch up? I’m trying to spin lots of plates these days especially with my kids being home with me for the summer. My blog has been very neglected but I feel like I am on the verge of being caught up. Maybe.
Lots of new things are happening for my business and that is a good thing!

Nothing like a late night post (or should I say early morning)! I am packing up my computer and camera and heading to Napa Valley in the morning for a fabulous photographer’s retreat. I had to get this darling girl up first so her Mommy could have a sneak peek of our last session together.
I think 3 months is probably the hardest age to shoot. However, I have to say it is still one of my most favorite ages with 4 months being a close second. I love to see those little personalities start to shine through. I look forward to watching this one get bigger and bigger.
My office will be closed for the next week and I will get back to phone calls and emails as soon as I return on Monday, 6/28. Have a great week. I’m pretty sure I will!

Here is a little non-baby picture to help us welcome June. It is from the Little Gem Magnolia tree in my backyard. I love it.
I started this post a couple of weeks ago to let everyone know that I would be on vacation and out of the office for several days. I just realized today that I never published it – woops! So, anyway, I am back now.
However, I will be gone again next week. It will be a non-kid vacation and I can’t begin to tell you how excited about it. More to come….
Stay tuned.
Meet Mason & Katherine’s family. Never have two children looked more like their Daddy. However, I have Mason front and center here because in these images I saw lots of his Mama in him. What a sweet smile… He is a good boy even if he didn’t care much for my bridge. I love Katherine’s spunk and I suspect a lot of that comes honest from Mom as well?
She is a sweet girl and I’m glad she was able to wear her “twirly” blue dress for me. I know she has a great dancing future ahead of her!
I had fun being with this family despite the bugs. I have lots of good shots and will have some trouble trying to narrow them down. So, stay tuned…
Hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!
After posting this picture, I have decided I may love the black and white version even better. Either would make such a beautiful gallery wrapped canvas. Classic. They have to have this one hanging in their home – don’t you think?
These boys are adorable. They are just as lovely in person. I had a 4 and 2 year old boy at the same time not so long ago and I don’t remember them ever being so calm and sweet. I do, however, remember the endless questions! I hope on this day I was as creative with my answers as I was with my photography. Harrison may have stumped me on a few things.
Before I go, I have to post something with their beautiful Mommy (in black & white, of course!). I’m betting they take very good care of her!

Lots of Love
